As of 13 min ago, the chance that Russia enters Borova by September 30 stands at 8.1%. Since it opened, the market has traded between 3.8% and 16.0%. The chart shows a line that has held steady without dramatic swings. This market resolves to Yes if, by the cut-off, any part of Borova appears under one of several Russian-control shading layers on the ISW Ukraine map, and that shading persists through the next full ISW update cycle. The qualifying layers are ‘Assessed Russian Infiltration Areas in Ukraine’, ‘Assessed Russian Control’, ‘Assessed Russian Advance In Ukraine’, or ‘Assessed Russian Gains in the Past 24 Hours’. Temporary glitches or fleeting shading that disappears before the next update do not count. Actual Russian control obtained via a negotiated settlement also qualifies, even without ISW shading—a mere announcement of de jure transfer does not. Once a qualifying condition is met, any later loss of control is ignored. The primary resolution source is the ISW interactive map; if it becomes permanently unavailable, DeepStateMap serves as a fallback, and if both fail, credible reporting may be used. The number responds to two formal conditions: the hard deadline and the resolution source. The market closes on Oct 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time, after which no new territory counts. Every ISW daily update can shift the probability if the map reflects a change in Russian control near Borova. Because the market depends on a single, frequently updated source, the line can remain flat for long periods and then move abruptly when a qualifying shading appears.
It resolves to Yes if the ISW map shows Russian-controlled shading covering any part of Borova (49.37457173620971, 37.62233412539868) by the deadline.
The shading must be from one of four ISW layers: Assessed Russian Infiltration Areas, Assessed Russian Control, Assessed Russian Advance, or Assessed Russian Gains in the Past 24 Hours. The shading must persist through the next complete ISW daily update cycle; temporary errors are ignored.
If the ISW map becomes permanently unavailable, the market turns to DeepStateMap. If both are gone, a consensus of credible news reporting is used to determine whether Russia controls Borova.
Yes, actual control from a negotiated settlement qualifies, even without ISW shading. But a mere announcement of de jure sovereignty without physical control does not suffice.
The market resolves to Yes as soon as a qualifying condition is met. Subsequent loss of control does not change the resolution.
